Proyecto paisajístico del Centro de Convenciones Ibarra

El lugar elegido para la construcción del Centro de Convenciones es la parte sur del parque Ciudad Blanca.

El arquitecto Santiago Domínguez, funcionario del GAD-I realiza el diseño arquitectónico del Centro de Convenciones de Ibarra. Posteriormente el funcionario Cisneros realiza el estudio y diseño del proyecto paisajístico del centro de convenciones de Ibarra. Se visita el lugar y se analiza el paisaje inmediato y lejano. Sobre el levantamiento topográfico se inicia la conceptualización del proyecto paisajístico. Se identifican las necesidades de actividades en el exterior y las oportunidades que ofrece el paisaje. Y se plantea una zonificación de estrategias y actividades al exterior.

The place chosen for the construction of the Convention Center is the southern part of the Ciudad Blanca park.

The architect Santiago Domínguez, a GAD-I official, carries out the architectural design. Then, the architect Cisneros carried out the study and design of the landscaping project for the Ibarra convention center. The place is visited and the immediate and distant landscape is analyzed. On the topographical survey, the conceptualization of the landscape project begins. The needs for outdoor activities and the opportunities offered by the landscape are identified. And a zoning of strategies and activities abroad is proposed.

El diseño paisajístico parte de la jerarquización de accesos y la composición de aproximación al edificio (Centro de Convenciones). La propuesta es: generar sombra a los peatones que transitan en la acera; usar materiales que permiten filtrar el agua lluvia a la tierra, para así reducir las distancias de escorrentías y no saturar el sistema de alcantarillado pluvial; limitar el acceso directo peatonal y visual desde Corredor periférico sur; planificar accesos universales en todos los frentes del área de intervención; priorizar el acceso al parque desde el estacionamiento existente; dar continuidad al eje central existente del parque hacia el futuro Centro de Convenciones de Ibarra; sembrar árboles en el estacionamiento existente para dar sombra a transeúntes y automóviles; dejar la mayor cantidad de superficie permeable posible; selección de especies vegetales nativas de los andes ecuatorianos; implementar jardineras en el entorno del edificio; las circulaciones de los usuarios estarán, en la mayoría de las situaciones, en relación directa con la sombra de árboles; crear un anfiteatro en la parte baja de la cubierta del edificio; contornear el anfiteatro con una hilera de árboles para enfatizar la forma orgánica de este; mantener las infraestructuras construidas existentes y mantener los árboles existentes.

The landscaping design is based on the hierarchy of accesses and the composition of the approach to the building (Convention Center). The proposal is to generate shade for pedestrians walking on the sidewalk; use materials that allow rainwater to filter into the ground, in order to reduce runoff distances and not saturate the storm sewer system; limit direct pedestrian and visual access from the south peripheral corridor; plan universal access on all fronts of the intervention area; prioritize access to the park from the existing parking lot; give continuity to the existing central axis of the park towards the future Ibarra Convention Center; planting trees in the existing parking lot to provide shade for pedestrians and cars; leave as much permeable surface area as possible; selection of plant species native to the Ecuadorian Andes; implement planters around the building; the circulation of the users will be, in the majority of the situations, in direct relation with the shade of trees; create an amphitheater in the lower part of the roof of the building; outline the amphitheater with a row of trees to emphasize its organic form; maintain existing built infrastructure and maintain existing trees.
