The philosophy and theology department
Para el proyecto arquitectónico se da continuidad a los conceptos entendidos en el plan urbano. Se trabaja con la quebrada, con los accidentes geográficos extendiendo el vacío de la quebrada hacia el interior del proyecto. El paisaje mismo da la forma y limita la circulación; los volúmenes son abstracciones de la topografía. Se plantea espacios sumergidos en la tierra; con relación más directa con la quebrada.
Las diferentes actividades del Departamento de Filosofía y Teología se desarrollan en dos barras enfrentadas entre sí. Los volúmenes lineales se deforman para adaptarse de mejor forma al terreno y hacer evidente las diferentes direcciones de las curvas de nivel hacia el paisaje que lo rodea; los cambios de dirección
generan encuentros y sorpresa con el paisaje.
Los volúmenes actúan como muros de contención del terreno; retranquean la topografía para generar plazas a diferentes niveles. Para la circulación y comunicación entre los espacios se suspenden pasarelas elevadas de aluminio estructural al muro de hormigón y así contrastando con lo pesado del material soportante.
The architectural project gives continuity to the concepts understood in the urban plan. We work with the ravine, with the geographical features extending the gap of the ravine towards the interior of the draft. The landscape itself gives the shape and limits circulation; the volumes are abstractions of the topography.
It poses submerged spaces in the earth; with a more direct relationship with the ravine.
The different activities of the Department of Philosophy and Theology are developed
in two bars facing each other. The linear volumes are deformed to adapt better to the terrain and make the different directions evident of contour lines to the landscape that surrounds it.
The volumes act as walls of containment of the land; they set back the topography to generate places to different levels.
For circulation and communication between the spaces are suspended walkways made of structural aluminum, that are anchored to the wall of concrete and thus contrasting with what heavy of the supporting material.
El programa arquitectónico se desarrolla entre los muros y las actividades están dispuestas de forma lineal; una actividad tras otra. Por otra parte, los puentes y pasarelas elevadas comunican los diferentes espacios.
The architectural program develops between the walls and the activities are arranged in a linear manner; one activity after another. On the other hand, bridges and elevated walkways communicate the different spaces.
El diseño innovador del “Departamento de filosofía y teología” cumple con los conceptos iniciales del proyecto. Potencializa estas ideas y lleva al usuario a recorrer por espacios poco comunes, que sorprenden y generan sensaciones en el transcurrir del edificio. Pasando por espacios obscuros a otros llenos de luz, de espacios densos con materiales pesados a elementos ligeros que parecen volar, de espacios cerrados o subterráneos a elementos suspendidos sobre la quebrada; es constante el contraste que se hace entre el lleno y el vacío. El edificio de arquitectura simple y honesta, incluye en su diseño estrategias sostenibles, como por ejemplo: el muro trombe, los tragaluces tubulares, el suelo radiante en las plazas y la recolección de agua lluvia para jardines y cultivos.
The innovative design of the "Department of Philosophy and Theology" fulfills the initial concepts of the project. Potentiate these ideas and take the user to travel through unusual spaces that surprise and generate sensations in the elapse of the building. Passing through dark spaces to others full of light, of dense spaces with heavy materials to light elements that seem to fly, from closed or underground spaces to elements suspended over the ravine; is constant the contrast that is made between the full and the empty. The architecture it's builded simple and honest, includes in its design sustainable strategies, such as example: the trombe wall, the tubular skylights, the radiant floor in the squares and the collection of rainwater for gardens and crops.
